Mango Protein Smoothie

October 11, 2017 by Cecily Grange in Sweet Recipes

This is my go-to post-workout protein smoothie recipe because it is simple, delicious, creamy and full of protein and fibre!

It is perfect for an on-the-go breakfast or pre-workout meal as it's easily digestible, giving you the energy to push your limits during training without feeling heavy or bloated.

Of course, if you don't have protein powder you can use natural greek yoghurt as a protein-rich substitute for a great-tasting smoothie.

Ingredients:

  • 200ml almond milk (or whichever milk you prefer - coconut milk also works well!)

  • 1/2 banana (fresh or frozen)

  • 120g frozen mango pieces

  • 3/4 scoop (15g) organic unflavoured whey protein (I use The Organic Protein Company) or 2 tbsp natural greek yoghurt

  • 1 tsp organic maca powder (try Sevenhills Wholefoods Organic Raw Maca Powder) (optional)

  • 5 mint leaves (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 tsp chia seeds (as garnish)

Instructions:

Combine all ingredients except the chia seeds in a blender and mix until smooth. Pour into a tall glass, sprinkle with chia seeds and serve with a straw. Enjoy your Mango Protein Smoothie, prepared in less than 5 minutes!
